  1. Greetings, thank you for your page. Especially the vintage equipment. I have a couple of items here but, only vintage because I had been laid up due to a broken back, and permeant concussion from the military. I have a question, I note many are tunning close to other stations, is the use of dummy loads gone by the wayside ?
Hope all is good with you, 73’s

    1. Hello Ken,
First, thank you for your service, and I’m sorry to hear about your permanent injuries sustained while in service. Again, thank you and thanks for the kind words on my blog!
Ideally using a dummy load so not to interfere with other stations on the air makes good sense and is a courtesy. When needing to tune to lower SWR on an antenna and feedline, I tune a few kHz up or down from the station / frequency I want to work and lower power output first to QRP levels while adjusting the inductance/capacitance on my tuner, then increase power to tweak for lowest SWR. I never tune up on top of a QSO I can hear.
Thanks for writing and have a great day – 73 de AB1DQ.
